Meet Iwona Smenda - Creative Marketing Executive

Hi, I’m Iwona, and I have recently joined SHY as the Creative Marketing Executive. My career journey began several years ago in Poland, where I initially pursued a degree in education. However, I quickly realised that it wasn’t the right fit for me, as it didn’t allow me to fully express my creative thinking. I always had a passion for finding innovative solutions, so I made the decision to switch paths. I moved to Glasgow to study marketing, a field that offered more room for creativity. During my studies, I worked in hospitality as a team leader. This role was instrumental in helping me develop strong leadership skills, especially in high-pressure environments. It gave me the opportunity to manage a team, tackle challenges head-on, and maintain a calm and productive atmosphere, even in stressful situations.
I bring a head full of fresh ideas, creativity, and the ability to think outside the box. I’m someone who thrives on innovation, and I’m always looking for ways to approach problems with a unique perspective. My background in both leadership and marketing has taught me to balance creativity with practical solutions, so I’m able to contribute both imaginative concepts and structured execution. I’m eager to bring this blend of creativity and strategy to the team and help drive projects forward with fresh energy and enthusiasm.
I’m excited about the aviation industry, which has always fascinated me. I look forward to gaining a closer understanding of the machines and the entire process behind SHY Aviation's private jet charter operations. Being able to work in such a dynamic and innovative field for an industry-leading company is a great motivator for me. I’m also excited about the opportunity to collaborate with such a diverse and talented team. I believe that working with people who are passionate about their work will inspire me even more and push me to constantly improve and innovate.

Meet Lucy Cooke - Business Development Account Manager

Hi, I’m Lucy and I am an experienced private jet charter broker and have joined SHY in the role of Business Development Account Manager.
After completing my A Levels at Reigate College, I chose not to attend university and instead focused on my future career. I started in the banking industry before moving into telecommunications, where I gained my first experience as an account manager in B2B sales. In 2021 I became a private jet broker, arranging private jet and helicopter charters, as well as developing my expertise in the private charter sector.
In my three years as a private jet broker, I took ownership of the entire sales cycle and fine-tuned my account management skills and it is these skills that I am excited to bring to the SHY team. My expertise in all aspects of chartering will bring a lot of value to the business development team, and I hope to share my wealth of knowledge with our various partners to help secure private jet charters which are tailored to their unique requirements.
I am excited to be part of such an ambitious group of people and to help grow the success of the business development team.

Meet Wagner Monteiro de Barros - Luxury Travel Consultant

Hello, I’m Wagner and I have recently joined the SHY Lifestyle team as a luxury travel consultant.
I studied at the Anhembi-Morumbi University in Sao Paulo, where I attained a bachelor’s degree in Travel and Tourism, then went on to study at the Cavendish College in London, where I specialised in Public Relations. I have extensive experience in hospitality where I previously worked as an Operational Manager in Sao Paulo, which has helped me when working in the concierge industry. Prior to the pandemic, I worked directly with corporate clients in the travel industry for five years. This experience has allowed me to be where I am today.
I have previously worked alongside SHY Lifestyle, so I have extensive knowledge of what they do and how, which encouraged me to get in contact and start working here. I am really excited to become part of the team and to play a key part in constantly developing the luxury travel services and expertise we are able to offer our clients. Whether it's the finest accommodation in the world, access to exclusive events or the curation of bespoke itineraries, here at SHY we go way above and beyond private jet charter.

Meet Agnes Valastyan - Finance Assistant

Hi, I’m Agnes, and I have joined the Finance Team here at SHY in the position of Financial Assistant.
I have previously worked in marketing as a brand and marketing manager across Europe. A few years ago, while working as a marketing consultant here in London, a client of mine asked for my support in project management and accounting. This opportunity led me to my finance studies, where I became a certified bookkeeper and am now continuing to study to be an accountant, all while gaining work experience.
As Financial Assistant, I support the team with accurate and timely financial recording to ensure the smoothest, most accurate day-to-day operations and month-end closing. This enables us to continue to be the most effective private jet charter and luxury travel management partner to our clients.
Whilst working at SHY, I am also looking forward to deepening my knowledge with the help from Sara and Angus.

Meet Rachel Foskett - Marketing Placement

Hi, I’m Rachel, and I have recently begun my placement year here at SHY for my university studies, working alongside the marketing team. I am studying Marketing Communications at Bournemouth University, and working at SHY is my first official marketing role, which means I’m new to this industry - both marketing and aviation. However, I’ve been very keen to jump into the deep end and get stuck in, and I feel that I have already learnt so much. I am grateful to the marketing team, as well as the rest of the SHY team, for giving me the guidance and knowledge I need to progress with this role and my future marketing career.
I’ve been excited about working with SHY for many reasons, one of which stands out is the industry events. I was lucky enough to attend an event in my first few weeks at SHY—ACE24—and I’m sure there are many more to come. These events are great for networking, but I have also found them extremely useful for understanding what the private jet charter industry is all about. They are also a great content opportunity!
It is great for us to welcome an incredible selection of talent to the SHY team, and we are all very excited about how they will help us continue to develop the service we provide in the future. Our private jet charter and luxury travel management operations will benefit greatly from this influx of energy and expertise. Contact us today to find out more about how we can help you.
